How Fossilite collects, uses, and protects your information — in plain, straightforward terms.

On this page
Fossilite ("Fossilite," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you visit fossilite.ai or engage our services.
By using our website or services, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information you provide to us
When you contact us, request a demo, subscribe to updates, or apply to work with us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, company, and any details you choose to include in your message.
Information we collect automatically
When you visit our website, we automatically collect certain technical data — including your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and referring URLs — through the analytics tools and cookies described below.
We use the information we collect to:
Respond to your enquiries and provide the services you request
Operate, maintain, and improve our website and offerings
Send updates and relevant communications where you have opted in
Analyze usage to understand and improve performance
Protect against fraud, misuse, and security threats
Comply with our legal obligations
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use our website. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect certain features.
We ask before setting them
Analytics and marketing cookies are not set unless you accept them. When you first visit, we show a notice with an Accept and a Reject option, and until you choose Accept the scripts that would set those cookies are never loaded at all. Choosing Reject means they are not loaded either.
You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link at the bottom of any page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
What these cookies are for
Google Analytics and HubSpot each set their own cookies and process data under their own privacy policies. These are the two the notice asks you about.
Our own analytics is separate. It sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device, so it is not part of the cookie choice and runs either way. The next section explains exactly what it records and how to switch it off.
One exception is reCAPTCHA, which loads only when you use our contact form and is there to prevent automated abuse of that form. We treat it as necessary for the security of a form you have chosen to submit.
We run our own analytics on fossilite.ai so we can see which pages are useful and where visitors lose interest. It is worth describing plainly, because it works differently from most analytics tools.
It does not set a cookie or store anything on your device
Instead of assigning you an identifier that follows you between visits, we combine your IP address and browser user-agent string with a secret value that changes every night, then keep only an irreversible hash of the result. Your IP address and user-agent string are never written to our database. Because the nightly secret is deleted after seven days, the hashes stop being reproducible and cannot be linked back to you or joined across days. Returning tomorrow makes you a new visitor to us.
What we record
Pages viewed, page titles, and the order in which pages were visited within a single visit
How long a page was open and how far down it was scrolled
Where on a page people click, recorded as a position and the type of element clicked — never the contents of any form field, and never text you type
Device type, browser, operating system, and screen size
The website or campaign that referred you, if any, and your country
What we do not do
We do not record keystrokes, form contents, passwords, or session replays. We do not attempt to identify you personally, build a profile of you, follow you to other websites, or sell or share this data with advertising networks. Fields marked as sensitive are excluded before anything is sent.
Your choices
Because it sets nothing on your device and cannot identify you, this measurement is not covered by the cookie notice and runs whether or not you accept cookies. We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding how our own website performs.
To switch it off, enable the "Do Not Track" setting in your browser. The script checks for it before it starts and collects nothing at all when it is on. Standard content blockers and privacy extensions also prevent it from loading. You can object to this processing, or ask us any question about it, using the contact details below.
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
For our own website analytics, individual page views and clicks are deleted after 90 days. The nightly secret used to derive visitor hashes is deleted after seven days, after which those hashes can no longer be reproduced. Daily totals — visitor, session, and page-view counts with no record of any individual visit — are kept indefinitely so we can compare periods over time.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, to object to processing, and to request data portability. You may also withdraw consent to marketing at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
Our website may contain links to third-party sites and services that we do not control. This policy does not apply to those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
Our website and services are not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We operate globally, and your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection consistent with applicable law.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate, and your continued use of our website after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
